A prestigious international law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paralegal Manager to oversee the Paralegal Department in their Washington, D.C. office. This leadership role involves supervising a diverse team, managing departmental operations, and collaborating with attorneys and firm leadership to ensure seamless support and high performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of Paralegals, Document Clerks, Project Assistants, and temporary staff, ensuring adherence to firm policies and procedures.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff while managing performance evaluations, coaching, and goal-setting initiatives.
- Optimize staffing levels and coordinate work assignments to support attorneys and case teams effectively.
- Promote collaboration across practice areas to enhance utilization and productivity of paralegals.
- Develop and present training programs and implement new policies to improve team efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze statistical reports, budgets, and staffing plans to align with business needs.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies and tools to support team productivity.
- Act as a resource for attorneys, clients, and staff by providing guidance on regulations, procedures, and matter-specific strategies.
- Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring cost efficiency and quality service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
- At least 10 years of paralegal experience and 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably within a law firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with legal tools such as Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, and e-discovery platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to shifting deadlines.
